A Practical Guide for Beginners
If you're interested in the idea of vaginal or anal stretching but aren't sure how to start safely and meaningfully, you're in the right place. This article is a simple and practical guide for anyone who wants to begin training – whether out of erotic interest, a need for more comfort during sex, or pure curiosity.
Before You Begin 🤔
What exactly is vaginal or anal stretching, and why do people do it? We covered this in detail in our first article: 1 Benefits and reasons for stretching. We recommend reading that before this practical guide.
Preparation Before Training
Stretching is a process – and like any training, it’s important to start right.
- Mindset: Don’t expect instant results. Your body needs time. The mindset of “I want to achieve this as fast as possible” often leads to disappointment or even injury. Patience is key. You should enjoy the entire stretching journey, not just wait for the results. Some sessions will go better than others. A toy you can usually handle may not always go in easily – don’t let that discourage you. 🧘♀️
- Hygiene: Make sure both your toy and your body are clean. Use gentle hand soap for toy cleaning – we recommend a disinfecting soap for our toys. 🧼
- Lubricants: Stretching without a good lube doesn’t work. We recommend water-based lubricants. In general, only use water-based lubes with silicone toys, as some silicone lubes can damage other silicone toys. If you’re using your hand or non-silicone toys, a good-quality silicone lube is also fine. Use lube generously – both the toy and your body need to be thoroughly lubricated. 💧
- Environment & Position: Find a calm, private place where you feel comfortable. The best position is one that allows you to relax. Most commonly used is lying on your back with bent legs, sometimes slightly raised and resting on your partner’s thighs. Some prefer kneeling positions or sitting down onto the toy. Try different positions and see what works best for you – or switch between them as you like. 🛋️
How to Choose Your First Training Toy ✅
This is a crucial point. A good start will help you avoid getting stuck right away.
- Size: Everyone’s body and starting point is different. It’s important that your toy matches your current level. For your first toy, we always recommend consulting us directly. But if you want to choose on your own, use a toy you already own as a reference – consider its size (especially circumference), firmness, and shape. 📏
- Shape: We recommend simple, gradually widening shapes – such as cones, bulbs with gentle transitions, or training plugs. Avoid detailed or extreme fantasy shapes. Your toy should always have a secure base to prevent it from going too deep – safety first! 🚨
- Material: Use 100% platinum silicone – it’s body-safe, non-porous, hypoallergenic, doesn’t absorb bacteria, and lasts for years. For stretching, softer silicones (Shore A-05 to 00-30) are ideal. They adapt to the body, reduce the risk of injury, and are very effective. 🧪
- So, which toy should you choose? Here’s what your first training toy should look like: A soft toy with a tip just slightly smaller than your current max, a smooth surface (not too textured), a gradual widening shape, and a secure base. It should be made from high-quality, body-safe materials and pigments. 💡
Custom-Made Toy ✨
The main advantage of a custom toy is full personalization to your needs. We can make a toy just for you – size, shape, firmness, color. If you share your needs and current abilities with us, we can give you excellent advice so the toy fits you perfectly. This is a huge advantage, especially at the beginning, when even a 0.5 cm difference in diameter can determine whether it feels pleasant or not.
First Training Sessions 📅
- How often? Start with 2–3 times per week. Daily training is not necessary – it can even be counterproductive. What matters is consistency and giving your body time to recover.
- How long? It can be 5 minutes or 60 – it depends on how you feel. You don’t need to “push through” a fixed amount of time. Train for as long as your body allows. As soon as you feel unpleasant tension, stop. ⏱️
- What does a session look like?
- Prepare your toy and lubricant.
- Get into a comfortable position and relax.
- Slowly and gently insert the toy – just enough to create slight pressure, not pain.
- Maintain the pressure, or take short breaks and reinsert. Some prefer continuous pressure, others like to alternate.
- Pay attention to how you feel – discomfort is okay, sharp pain is not.
- After training, clean the toy and give your body time to rest. 📋
- Stretching Principle: The core principle is that soft silicone toys slightly compress as they enter or exit the body. This allows them to be inserted even if their diameter is a bit larger than the opening. Once inside, silicone tries to return to its original shape, applying even pressure around the rim – which stretches the body gently and effectively. 📌
Gradual Progress 📈
- When to move up in size? Once the toy goes in smoothly, without resistance, and you can keep it inside without any pulling sensation – it’s time to move on to the next step. But take small steps only. Don’t skip sizes. Gradual progression is key. Always use your current toy as a warm-up for the next one. 🔁
- How to overcome stagnation?
- Try a longer warm-up and more lube.
- Slightly change the shape of the toy.
- Take a few days off.
- Train after orgasm – your body might be more relaxed. 📉
- Recovery: Rest is just as important as training. If you feel tightness outside of training, give yourself more time to recover. 🧘♀️
Common Beginner Mistakes ⚠️
- Rushing: You can’t force your body. Going too fast often leads to pain or injury. Slow means safe. 🚫
- Too little lube: Lube is your best friend. Really. Not using enough is the most common technical mistake. If it dries out, small tears can occur during toy movement, which delays healing and slows your progress unnecessarily. 💧
- Ignoring pain: Mild tension is okay, but sharp pain, burning, or bleeding are signs something is wrong. Stop training immediately if you feel these. 🛑
- Comparing yourself to others: Every body is different. Just because someone else uses giant toys doesn’t mean you should too. Everyone has their own pace, and it can change over time.
Training with a Partner 🤝
- Can you stretch together with a partner? Yes – and for many, it can be a beautiful shared experience. A partner can help you relax, maintain rhythm and pressure, or just provide emotional support. But communication is absolutely crucial. Always clearly say what feels good, what doesn’t, and when to stop. Only practice with a partner you fully trust.
- Role of the partner: The partner should never push beyond what you want. Their role is to assist – not to lead the way. It’s your body, your tempo, and your comfort that matters. 💑
When Stretching Becomes a Pleasure 🎉
- From training to enjoyment: Over time, training often turns into something deeply enjoyable. What may start as “just practice” can become a highly erotic and intimate experience – either alone or with a partner. You begin to feel every change in your body and experience stretching not only as a goal, but as a source of real pleasure. 🌟
- It’s not just about size: Stretching isn't just about “getting bigger.” It’s about getting to know your body, discovering what gives you pleasure, and realizing that even a few millimeters can make a huge difference. The goal isn't to reach a number – but to enjoy the process. 🔄
