The head is significantly smaller than the base (for example, size M has a 4.5×3.5 cm head vs 6×5 cm base), so insertion is more accessible than the max dimensions suggest. Size S (base 5×4 cm) is a good starting point for users new to equine toys. XXL (base 11×9 cm) is for experienced users seeking extreme fullness.

Why are the diameters given as two numbers?
Because Mustang has an elliptical cross-section – it's wider in one direction than the other. The two numbers (e.g. 6×5 cm) represent the widest and narrowest measurements at the base. This non-round shape is what gives Mustang its distinctive feel.
Is Mustang suitable for beginners?
